We’re training the nurse practitioner residents to Peninsula Community Health Services model of high-performance health care: advanced access scheduling, planned care, the chronic care model, integrated behavioral health/primary care, team-based, with expert use of health information technology and the electronic health record, Athena.
Two NP residency slots are available for the NP Residency Cohort. The family nurse practitioner residency program runs from October - August.
The residency year begins with intensive orientation to Peninsula Community Health Services, the neighborhoods in which the training sites are located, and the health problems of the target population, and includes tours of PCHS countywide, technical training on Athena, and orientation by our Associate Medical Directors to the responsibilities and privileges of medical staff participation at PCHS.
